Pace is a leading international art gallery representing some of the most influential contemporary artists and estates.
About us
Pace is a leading international art gallery representing some of the most influential artists and estates of the 20th and 21st centuries, founded by Arne Glimcher in 1960. Holding decades-long relationships with Alexander Calder, Jean Dubuffet, Agnes Martin, Louise Nevelson, and Mark Rothko, Pace has a unique history that can be traced to its early support of artists central to the Abstract Expressionist and Light and Space movements. Now in its seventh decade, under the leadership of CEO Marc Glimcher and President Samanthe Rubell, the gallery continues to nurture its longstanding relationships with its legacy artists and estates while also making an investment in the careers of contemporary artists, including Torkwase Dyson, Loie Hollowell, Robert Nava, Adam Pendleton, and Marina Perez Simão. Pace advances its mission to support its artists and share their visionary work with audiences and collectors around the world through its exhibitions of both 20th century and contemporary art and scholarly projects from its imprint Pace Publishing. Today, the gallery has eight locations globally, including New York, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Geneva, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Tokyo.

Join Pace photographer #RichardMisrach for a book signing and brief talk on Saturday, July 26 at Arcana Books On The Arts in Culver City, California. Misrach will sign copies of his new monograph from Aperture, "Cargo," on Saturday, July 26th, between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. A brief talk about his thought-provoking body of work will begin promptly at 5:00 PM. 'Cargo' centers on the light, water, and weather of the San Francisco Bay. Misrach began creating this body of work in 2021 amid the pandemic and its attendant lockdowns. Captured at different times of day from a single location in San Francisco, these photographs speak to his enduring interest in bearing witness to the world around him from a singular vantage point over the course of months or years. This event is free and open to the public. More information can be found on Arcana's website: s://https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/eeu4q7Jg

🍦 Did you know: #ClaesOldenburg's favorite ice cream flavors were strawberry and pistachio! Discover the Pop artist's decadent world with his daughter, Maartje Oldenburg, in our new film, where she discusses the subjects and themes that inspired her father's lively sculptures. In this installment, she shares insights on his long-lasting experimentations with the formal possibilities of ice cream. With his depictions of indulgent desserts, Maartje says, the artist engaged the viewer in "disguises of representational art." "This & That," an exhibition of Oldenburg's work, is currently on view at #PaceTokyo in #AzabudaiHills through August 23, 2025. Watch the full video: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/eeFqAFEX

Pace artist Trevor Paglen will guest lecture tonight, July 22 from 7–8pm at the #AndersonRanch art center in Snowmass Village, Colorado. Paglen's current exhibition in our New York gallery, "Cardinals," (June 26–August 15, 2025) brings together a selection of prints and polaroids exploring the relationships between UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) sightings, Artificial Intelligence, and the rise of disinformation in today’s media environment—which has all but obliterated the notion of ‘truth.’ Sunday and Tuesday evenings, June through September, Anderson Ranch features a slideshow presentation by distinguished faculty members and visiting artists. These insightful talks dive into the artists’ inspiration, their creative process, and more. Paglen's presentation is free and open to the public and is available in person or via livestream: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/eAzDi2er

Catalonian artist Antoni Tàpies (1923-2012) believed that his era required a new kind of existential expression. Working in parallel with global art movements including #AbstractExpressionism, #Gutai, #ArtInformel, #Tachisme, and #ArtePovera, his oeuvre resides between figuration and abstraction, matter and mysticism, as manifested through his painting, sculpture, drawing, collage, and printmaking. In an article for Hyperallergic published in 2019, Dorian Batycka meditates on Antoni Tàpies: Political Biography, the cultural battle waged by capitalism and communism during the Cold War, and how art and soft power are more relevant than ever before. Works by Antoni Tàpies are currently on view in "Pace: 65 Years at our Geneva gallery. Introducing #Americana 🇺🇸 through the perspective of seven distinct oeuvres, explore how artists engage with, utilize and comment on American identity in the days leading up to Independence Day. #RobertIndiana’s critique of the American Dream—both its promise and its privations—is no better exemplified than through his series of nine works of the same name: “The American Dream.” Indiana’s lifelong artistic engagement with both the aspirations of the American dream and its dark underbelly—the repressed dimensions of American history and society, from colonialism to materialism and commodification. Our current exhibition in New York, “Robert Indiana: The American Dream,” includes seminal examples of paintings and sculpture created by the artist beginning in the early 1960s and developed throughout subsequent decades of his career. Visit the exhibition throughout the summer, on view until August 15, 2025: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/eBvaKWA3 Learn more about Robert Indiana: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/eDicDSA2
