According to research from Delta partner Manny Teodoro, minority representation in the water sector's executive ranks has more than tripled since 2011. 💧 Over the years, Manny has tracked the increasing emphasis on diversity in water's corner offices. His latest data shows that progress, while slow, is undeniable. In 2011, America's water CEOs were 96% white and/or non-Hispanic. Today, nearly 13% of water system CEOs belong to a racial/ethnic minority group. Learn about the gradual rise of racial diversity in water leadership: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/eC-7yK6Y

Mounting evidence shows that BIPOC families are more likely to be denied adoption from an animal shelter or rescue organization than their white counterparts. To address this gap, Life of Riley grantee partner C.A.R.E Companions and Animals for Reform and Equity set out to identify the community-specific needs and priorities related to pet acquisition for BIPOC families and to identify equitable, accessible, and community-led solutions that improve access to pet ownership. In their newest report, "Gatekeeping Pet Ownership: The Challenges and Opportunities for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) Pet Acquisition in Atlanta, Miami, Minneapolis, and Philadelphia," C.A.R.E. shares findings like: 📊 72% of BIPOC families had negative experiences with a shelter/rescue 📊 19% of BIPOC families had applications denied by a shelter/rescue organization Download the report to learn how we can address adoption discrimination to reduce barriers for BIPOC families: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/ebrntefR C.A.R.E.'s research team walked us through this data in our July webinar, where they showed how increasing inclusivity in the adoption process can help reduce intentional dog breeding.
