  • Pain is temporary. An ŌURA Ring is forever. Congrats to Jenny Xu 🔜 gamescom, Alex Avnit, Jaipreet Hundal, and Jessica Riedman on being the fastest finishers in their divisions among our Porter-sponsored athletes at the SF Marathon! Jenny finished 9th among all women in the marathon, and Jessica finished in the Top 50 for the City Half Marathon. They’ll each get to pick from an Oura Ring 4, Theragun Prime, $300 Lululemon gift card, or WHOOP 5.0 Peak. Last but not least, Syed Husain won the random draw for the Eight Sleep Pod 5!

    • Porter is a cloud infra, platform as a service startup that sponsored startup founders and employees to run the 2025 SF Marathon. We gave away prizes based on timed results (top in four categories) and did a random draw for an Eight Sleep as well. These were the winners. One of our finishers placed 9th among all runners, another finished 46th

I ran the SF Half last week with zero run-specific prep and still PR’d. I’ve been focused on cycling, which pushed my HYBRD Training Score, especially cardio, to a new high. That told me I could finish strong and maybe bump my HYBRD score. Training Score is a measure of how much work you do, like study time. HYBRD Score is a measure of how you perform, like the test grade. HYBRD tracks all of my workouts: running, cycling, HYBRD Monday workouts, lifting, etc. Seeing the full picture helps me understand when aerobic load carries over to performance. Shoutout to Porter for sponsoring the half.

CEO and Founder @ Talofa | MIT | Forbes 30U30 | Building in fitness x gaming

I ran a marathon with zero training—and finished 9th overall. Here’s what happened. I ran the SF Marathon this weekend thanks to a last-minute sponsorship from Porter — I didn’t even know I’d be racing until a week prior! Despite that, I finished 3rd in the open division and 9th overall among women with a 3:03 — just shy of my PR on a much tougher, hillier course. I usually train for three months before a marathon, so with no prep this time, I was just hoping to run a 3:15. But meeting the Porter team and Cindy Wang at the start — and hearing there were some prizes up for grabs — gave me the push I needed. I went for it in the last 10 miles and pulled off a major negative split. Running a surprise marathon reinforced how powerful gamified movement can be — and seeing Monster Walk players embrace it has been incredibly motivating. Pre-register on Android and Pre-order on iOS and let us at Talofa surprise you into stepping outside! #fitnessjourney #marathon #racereport #founderjourney

the nowadays team ran the sf half this weekend 🏃🏻♀️ if you’re thinking about getting into startups — sign up for a race seriously. it’s the best mental training there is it’s a lot like building a company: 1/ there are highs and lows, especially on the sf hills startups and half marathons are not for the faint of heart 2/ run your own race every industry, team, and journey is different! there’s no perfect mold 3/ hard to get started, but addictive once you do 4/ it’s a long game, so pace yourself burnout is real 5/ surround yourself with good people team makes or breaks the experience it's not surprising to me that so many startup founders are into running :) huge thanks to Porter for sponsoring us!

Had my first ever (unexpected!) athletic sponsorship recently, switching it up from sponsoring hackathons; credits to the awesome world of startups and puns 😝 - massive shoutout to folks over at Porter (porter.run - keep those GPUs running 🏃) for sponsoring a bunch of us to take on the SF Marathon! 💛 Love funky growth hacks like these (throwback to the Warp Wrap campaign 🌯). Ran the 2nd Half (City Half), marking my first race in ~3 years (my last big one being the Ottawa Winterman) 👀 and kicking off my "get back into running by moving to SF" arc 🙃. Ya boi has come a long way from grade 9 cross-country practices 👟
