Daniella Radunovic, a registered pediatric nurse at Loyola Medicine, is the recipient of the Exceptional Team Support Award for the 2025 Nurses of Note awards program! Daniella was nominated because of the extraordinary compassion she showed for a colleague going through a difficult time, but as we've gotten to know her more, we see that she brings this level of kindness and enthusiasm to every aspect of her job. About nurses supporting fellow nurses, Daniella says: "I feel like when you're able to be there for other people and talk about their personal lives outside of work, it makes them feel like they're coming in to work as a safe zone as well." Check the comments for a link to the full story about this big-hearted Nurses of Note winner! ❤️

For people in Carol's position—overseeing physician scheduling for seven office locations—things can get a little hectic. That's a lot of granular details to remember for each office, and we all know that schedule changes are inevitable. On top of that, the schedule informs the payroll, so manual scheduling means manual duplication of that data in the payroll system. Thanks to Lightning Bolt's automation and integration capabilities, Carol can optimize scheduling for every office while ensuring that everybody gets paid accurately and on time.

Shift equitability for ED physicians depends on a lot of factors, but in our experience, you'll want to think about: - Linking weekend shifts to ensure nobody has to work a split weekend - Distributing the most difficult, high-volume shifts—like holiday weekends when primary care offices are closed—as fairly as possible - Spreading night shifts around equally - Taking individual preferences into account to make schedules as tailored as possible The ED may be a busy place, but that doesn't mean physician schedules have to be similarly chaotic!

When healthcare organizations come to us to improve clinical communication, we start with these three goals: ✔ Simplify clinical workflows to get the right message to the right person, every time ✔ Streamline patient journeys to improve care delivery ✔ Consolidate technology so they can free up some of their budget Listen to Taylor Rohrberger for the full breakdown.

We have a lot to celebrate at PerfectServe, and that includes the wonderful diversity of our employees, from their personal and career backgrounds to the places they call home. Today, many municipalities across Canada are celebrating their own version of Civic Holiday. It has different names in different places, so we spoke to Colin Beatty—who hails from British Columbia—about what the holiday means to him. To Colin, honoring this tradition is emblematic of the way we take care of our people AND our customers. Whatever it's called where you reside, enjoy the day off!

How is AI transforming healthcare technology? 🤖 Our Chief Innovation Officer Ben Moore believes one of the biggest opportunities is to integrate with these AI-based platforms to improve care delivery workflows. That's why PerfectServe has invested in building and maintaining a catalog of more than 250 integrations.

Locum providers are an important resource for many hospitalist groups, but not every group schedules them the same way. Some may prefer to give as many shifts as possible to their own physicians before filling gaps with locums, while others may have designated locum shifts built into every schedule. Whatever your preference, Lightning Bolt is flexible enough to build a schedule that works.

There are days when things just don't go according to plan. Being resilient in healthcare often means having a plan B and a plan C when plan A doesn't work out. With our schedule backup integration, we can automate the recurring delivery of a .csv file containing Lightning Bolt scheduling data to ensure you're always prepared, no matter what comes your way. The drop interval can be as frequent as every 10 minutes, which means every file contains scheduling data that was current no more than 10 minutes ago. The file also pulls data from today and the next three days to account for unexpected events spanning multiple days. Peace of mind should always be this simple!

Sometimes an investment in better scheduling technology pays off in unexpected ways! One of PerfectServe's largest health system customers had used our clinical communication platform for a number of years. As they were evaluating enterprise-grade scheduling technology, they decided to implement Lightning Bolt for 1) its ability to handle complex scheduling workflows and 2) the tight integration with PerfectServe's communication tech. Lightning Bolt generated the usual benefits—less time building schedules and better-balanced provider workloads—but a radiology group within the health system found a particularly novel use case. They had been looking for ways to expand their interventional radiology service line, which would require a 50% increase in daily staffing (from 2 to 3 providers). According to the lead scheduling physician, "Interventional Radiology used to do two days reading and two days doing interventions. Now we have a full schedule five days a week [of interventions], and the Lightning Bolt algorithm helped us do this." With better technology and a team of scheduling experts at your disposal, the sky's the limit!
