🌲🔥 When Wildfire and Insurance Collide: Aspen Leads the Way Last month, we had the privilege of co-hosting the first-ever Wildfire x Insurance Summit at The Aspen Institute. This wasn’t just another conference. It was a room full of people who don’t often sit at the same table—insurers, wildfire responders, technologists, real estate leaders, and local businesses—all grappling with the same question: 👉 How do we protect communities, and keep them insurable, as wildfire risk grows? In the working session, participants dug into hard questions: ✅ What mitigation efforts genuinely reduce risk—and will insurers recognize them? ✅ How do we build neighborhood-scale resilience that attracts coverage instead of driving it away? ✅ How do we share risk more fairly among insurers, governments, utilities, and property owners? We’re also proud to announce that three leading insurance companies—Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, Tokio Marine Future Fund, and MassMutual—have joined us as partners in our recent Series B round, further strengthening the push for solutions that can help safeguard communities and their insurability. At Pano AI, we believe early detection is one of the most powerful tools we have. Our wildfire detection cameras in Aspen created Colorado’s first AI-driven early-warning system. Today, nine cameras watch over the Roaring Fork Valley, helping buy critical time when minutes matter most. A big thank you to Rick Balentine, Jacob Andersen, MBA, CPM, Ali Hager Hammond, Aspen Fire Protection District, the Wildfire Collaborative Roaring Fork Valley, Angie Davlyn, Aspen Wildfire Foundation, Jeff Kaplan, Risk Strategies Company, and all the partners working to make Aspen a blueprint for resilience across the West. “By calling these events 'Acts of God,' we let ourselves off the hook. We miss the opportunity to adapt, invest, and innovate. And we simply can’t afford to do that any longer.” - Sonia Kastner, CEO Pano AI, 2025 Aspen Ideas Sonia shared the stage with leaders like Fareed Zakaria and Ben Lamm, CEO of Colossal Biosciences, as part of the session Fire, Fusion, and the Dire Wolf: Science on the Cutting Edge. In her 12-minute talk, she spoke about the explosion in innovation in “firetech” and other new approaches to all four phases of fire management, with Pano AI’s wildfire detection product as just one example of how these solutions can be deployed at scale. Sonia also had the opportunity to say thank you (in person) to our very first customer, Chief Rick Balentine of the Aspen Fire Protection District. Thank you, Aspen Ideas, for shining a light on the wildfire crisis and convening conversations that move us all toward solutions. And to Aspen FPD, we are grateful for your continued partnership. Grateful to see Pano AI’s technology recognized on Capitol Hill. During a recent House Natural Resources Committee hearing, Representative Bruce Westerman highlighted Douglas County's rapid-detection and rapid-suppression partnership powered by Pano AI. The committee hearing highlighted the role of innovative technologies in helping prevent catastrophic wildfires: "This week, out in Douglas County, Colorado, a lightning strike started on a US Forest Service property. Thanks to AI-enabled cameras, my understanding is that crews were able to start attacking this fire in 30 minutes. It was fully contained in less than four hours. Local emergency officials credited this technology with helping protect nearby homes. Without it, these officials said they wouldn’t have been able to respond to the fire until it was too late or too large to do something about it. Instead of being another tragedy, families whose homes may have otherwise been at risk probably never knew that the fire even started that day.” - Chairman Bruce Westerman We’re committed to helping first responders detect wildfires earlier, so more fires can be contained before they become disasters. #wildfiremitigation

On this day (and every day), we’re proud to join others in recognizing the dedication and sacrifice of wildland firefighters - federal, state, local, Tribal, military, rural, contract, and support personnel - who work tirelessly to protect lives, communities, and the natural places we all love. Since May 18th, Pano AI teammates across the country have been running, jogging, and walking in the virtual National Interagency Fire Center #Fireline5K to honor #NationalWildlandFirefighterDay. This year, our gratitude carries an even heavier weight as we mourn the tragic loss of two firefighters killed in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, just three days ago. Our thoughts are with their families, colleagues, and all first responders who face these risks every day. Every mile we covered was in tribute to those who stand on the firelines for all of us. #ItTakesAllOfUs #NWFFD

Pano AI reposted this
I’m heartbroken and outraged by the news out of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where two firefighters were fatally shot, and another was injured, in a deliberate ambush while responding to the Nettleton Gulch Fire. Firefighters willingly put themselves in harm’s way every day to protect lives, property, and communities. That anyone would exploit their courage to lure them into violence is beyond comprehension. My deepest condolences are with the families of those who were lost, the firefighter who is recovering, the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department, and the entire first responder community. 🔗 https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.pbit.ly/40kbpzV

📢 News from Australia: Pano AI’s Series B announcement is making headlines nationwide. Our Aussie co-founder, Arvind Satyam, has been speaking with media across Australia this week about our Series B growth plans and how AI is changing the game for fire intelligence. With more than two million hectares covered across Australia, we work hand in hand with fire authorities, forestry companies, and governments to equip communities with the tools they need to respond to the growing threat of bushfires. We’re proud to support leaders like Cameron MacDonald and the Green Triangle Forest Industries Hub, who are using Pano’s real-time intelligence to help coordinate early response across South Australia’s forestry and agricultural regions. This milestone reflects the growing global momentum for climate adaptation and the urgent need for proactive fire intelligence in high-risk regions. We’re grateful to all of our customers and partners in Australia for driving this mission forward.
