The round was led by Giant Ventures, which backs purpose-driven founders solving the world’s biggest challenges. Also participating in the round as new investors are insurance companies Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures and Tokio Marine Group, who see technology as key to maintaining a well-functioning insurance market in the face of growing natural disaster challenges. 🌲🔥 When Wildfire and Insurance Collide: Aspen Leads the Way Last month, we had the privilege of co-hosting the first-ever Wildfire x Insurance Summit at The Aspen Institute. This wasn’t just another conference. It was a room full of people who don’t often sit at the same table—insurers, wildfire responders, technologists, real estate leaders, and local businesses—all grappling with the same question: 👉 How do we protect communities, and keep them insurable, as wildfire risk grows? In the working session, participants dug into hard questions: ✅ What mitigation efforts genuinely reduce risk—and will insurers recognize them? ✅ How do we build neighborhood-scale resilience that attracts coverage instead of driving it away? ✅ How do we share risk more fairly among insurers, governments, utilities, and property owners? We’re also proud to announce that three leading insurance companies—Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, Tokio Marine Future Fund, and MassMutual—have joined us as partners in our recent Series B round, further strengthening the push for solutions that can help safeguard communities and their insurability. Grateful to see Pano AI’s technology recognized on Capitol Hill. During a recent House Natural Resources Committee hearing, Representative Bruce Westerman highlighted Douglas County's rapid-detection and rapid-suppression partnership powered by Pano AI. The committee hearing highlighted the role of innovative technologies in helping prevent catastrophic wildfires: "This week, out in Douglas County, Colorado, a lightning strike started on a US Forest Service property. Thanks to AI-enabled cameras, my understanding is that crews were able to start attacking this fire in 30 minutes. It was fully contained in less than four hours. Local emergency officials credited this technology with helping protect nearby homes. Without it, these officials said they wouldn’t have been able to respond to the fire until it was too late or too large to do something about it. On this day (and every day), we’re proud to join others in recognizing the dedication and sacrifice of wildland firefighters - federal, state, local, Tribal, military, rural, contract, and support personnel - who work tirelessly to protect lives, communities, and the natural places we all love. Since May 18th, Pano AI teammates across the country have been running, jogging, and walking in the virtual National Interagency Fire Center #Fireline5K to honor #NationalWildlandFirefighterDay. This year, our gratitude carries an even heavier weight as we mourn the tragic loss of two firefighters killed in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, just three days ago. Our thoughts are with their families, colleagues, and all first responders who face these risks every day. I’m heartbroken and outraged by the news out of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where two firefighters were fatally shot, and another was injured, in a deliberate ambush while responding to the Nettleton Gulch Fire. Firefighters willingly put themselves in harm’s way every day to protect lives, property, and communities. That anyone would exploit their courage to lure them into violence is beyond comprehension.
