This year, we received an incredible 491 applications from childhood cancer survivors for our Beyond the Cure Scholarship Program! It was a true honor for our review committees to read each essay and get to know the inspiring stories behind every applicant. After much thoughtful consideration, 50 outstanding individuals were selected, each one demonstrating not only the strength and resilience of a survivor, but the spirit of embracing survivorship with purpose and passion. Leaps of Love, Inc. in Highland, IL, hosted its annual LOL Race Weekend on Saturday for families affected by childhood cancer. Over 30 families joined for fun at Highland Speedway, enjoying bounce houses, water games, frog racing, a cornhole tournament, and dinner before cheering on the drivers. Case manager Savannah volunteered at the event, helping kids in the foam pit and bounce house. Huge thanks to Traci for making it all happen!💛

“I was diagnosed with advanced Hodgkin's lymphoma (stage 3) in March of 2024 at the age of 17. I was hospitalized for almost a month, and during that period, because my mother couldn't leave me alone, she was sent away from work. It was a difficult situation in every way, how we were going to do and maintain simple things without her work. That's when the NCCS contacted my mother, offering help to make our lives easier. We didn't know anyone could help us. I'm still undergoing treatment, and with their help, we can go to appointments and treatments.
