When Joseph DeLuca and I started NAI Lexington Commercial we saw an opportunity to make the city of Hartford fun again. Coming back to CT from over a decade in NYC, we were confused that Central CT nightlife was focused around select town centers in the suburbs. We thought it would be easy too 🤣. Recruit amazing attractions, that are walkable from other amazing attractions. Make Hartford the number one uber destination in Central CT. Make it the place where people WANT to come into the office, even though in a lot of cases they don’t have to 5 days a week anymore. Bring back team building, bring back happy hours and meeting new people! We’ve dove in head first taking on this mission and we’ve made progress, yes. But it’s not happened fast enough for our liking. We’re ramping things up, and have sought out the most important retail assignments in Hartford to relentlessly pursue getting this city on your radar again. We need your help though. This morning, George Andrews and I had the pleasure of visiting Covenant Preparatory School for their monthly Speaker Series. We were absolutely blown away by the young gentlemen that this school is molding. We dicussed our education, professional and personal backgrounds. I talked about how the students are light years ahead of where I was at their age 😅. We discussed Commercial Real Estate and all the different professions within our business. And we discussed complex projects both completed and planned, and told war stories! Some that end in failure and some that end up a great success. It was an awesome opportunity to connect with the next generation, spark some curiosity, and shed light on the many dynamic and rewarding aspects of the commercial real estate world. We were so impressed. The future is bright for these kids. The dad jokes weren’t landing. But those who know me, you know that I found them funny at least! 😂 Also, big shout out to George, he was awesome up there. Very proud of the work he’s doing for our team and have been amazed to see his skills develop over the past year. Watch out for this guy! Big thanks to Covenant Prep for having us.
