  • We would like to thank Cheri Johnson for her dedication as this year’s Event Chair for the March of Dimes Louisiana Awards Baton Rouge Luncheon. Cheri is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Woman's Hospital. A longtime advocate for moms and babies, Cheri’s connection to March of Dimes began in Texas and continued to grow after her move to Louisiana. Following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, her efforts in partnership with March of Dimes to bring healthcare to families led to her recognition in 2006 as Southwest Region Volunteer of the Year and inclusion in the March of Dimes Annual Report. “My entire career is dedicated to helping moms and babies,” Cheri shared. “The mission of Woman's Hospital and the March of Dimes is closely connected, and my career has been dedicated to both missions.” Cheri believes improving maternal and infant health strengthens the entire community: “When moms are healthy, babies are healthy. And when babies are healthy, communities thrive — with stronger educational outcomes, better economic opportunities, and a brighter future for all.” If you're in the Baton Rouge area, join Cheri on August 28, 2025, for this powerful luncheon celebrating community champions who support healthier moms and babies! • We are sadden to hear about the passing of Malcom Jamal Warner, an actor, musician and father. Malcolm-Jamal Warner played Theo Huxtable on television’s enormously popular The Cosby Show for eight seasons and starred in many films including The Tuskegee Airmen. He was a supporter of March of Dimes and served as a spokesperson for March of Dimes Walk America in 1987. We admire his dedication to supporting maternal and infant health in the US by advocating for healthy moms and strong babies. On behalf of the entire March of Dimes family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Warner family.

  • We'll never forget that THIS is the whole point. 💜 Thanks to you and your support, here's what we accomplished for moms and babies in 2024! Let's work together to keep changing outcomes for all moms and babies. Addressing the maternal and infant health crisis is not straightforward with one solution. It takes a combination of strategic and collaborative efforts in different areas to truly impact change to ultimately benefit thousands of moms, babies and families every day. With your support, March of Dimes touches every aspect of the pregnancy journey.
