Yesterday, Aderant announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the legal technology assets of HerculesAI to help achieve its goal of creating a comprehensive, end-to-end work-to-cash platform for law firms. This includes the Apollo, Athena, and Verify products, and Aderant will be bringing on the HerculesAI personnel who develop and support those tools. Today, truthsystems debuted Charter, a new real-time AI monitoring tool designed to help law firms mitigate risk when using GenAI tools. Charter flags AI misuse in real time on any device used by law firm employees, blocking the prompt and recording the incident in an immutable audit log. The company will debut the product in the Startup Hub at ILTACON 2025, following a $1 million funding round led by The Legal Tech Fund, with participation from Y Combinator and Pear VC.
