Looking for an entertaining and refreshing way to beat the summer heat? Try Suikawari — Japan’s summertime watermelon-splitting game! 🍉   This watermelon whack-a-melon game is a lighthearted summer pastime in #Japan (similar to the Mexican piñata game). To play suikawari, you’ll need a few players. Each one is blindfolded and spun around a few times, then given a stick or bat to whack open the watermelon’s rind. Workstations once used to power JERA Americas employees through the workday are now helping support hope. 🤝In our ongoing partnership with the Houston Food Bank we recently donated dozens of surplus motorized desks, ergonomic chairs, conference tables and cubicle workstations. The furniture is now repurposed for warehouse operations at the Houston Food Bank, the largest food bank in the country. The organization serves more than 1,600 Southeast Texas charities as part of its mission to end food insecurity. ♥️Each year, #JAM is a proud supporter of the Houston Food Bank. We support a yearly company-wide #volunteer event where our employees donate time to sort and pack food for distribution to local individuals and families. With temperatures heating up, here are a few tips to keep you hydrated, alert and cool this season.     ✅ Hydrate before you leave for work and bring a reusable water bottle along your commute. 💧 ✅ Drivers, check your car tire pressures regularly since heat causes the air inside tires to expand, increasing the risk of blowouts. 🚘 ✅ If walking to work, use shaded routes as much as possible, but especially during peak heat hours between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. ☀️ ✅ Watch out for dehydration. Feeling thirsty? You’re probably already dehydrated.
