We’re thrilled to see our summer interns making the most of their time with us—especially when it includes connecting with and learning from our amazing leaders!
Junior Mechanical Engineering Student at Boise State University | Mechanical Engineering Intern at Idaho Power | ASBSU Student Funding Board Officer | Lead Golf Coach
This morning Andee Morton, PE and I had the opportunity to sit down for coffee with Lisa Grow, Idaho Power’s President and CEO. Our conversation touched on her inspiring career journey—from being the second female engineer ever hired to leading the company today. Lisa shared stories from her time working in various departments throughout the company and the interesting projects she worked on in power supply, planning, and grid operations. One thing that stuck out to me was Lisa’s reflection on becoming a leader. Leadership wasn’t her original goal—it emerged from a desire to help her team succeed. She believes leadership is about creating an environment where people want to follow you, a mindset that not only builds stronger teams, but also fosters a culture of trust and productivity. Our conversation further showed me how careers are a journey and how people evolve professionally over time. I plan to keep Lisa’s stories in mind as I begin my professional career. Thank you, Lisa, for sharing your experience and lessons in leadership with me. Thank you Idaho Power for creating opportunities for interns like me to learn from such inspiring leaders.

Special thanks to all the teams and their families who turned out for the rodeo, to the planning team for hosting an incredible event, and to our friends at the Northwest Lineman College and The Patriot Group for volunteering to help keep the rodeo safe and running smoothly!
We recently brought back the Idaho Power Lineman Rodeo — our first in nearly a decade — and it was an incredible way to kick off summer! The rodeo highlighted the skill, strength, and spirit of our linemen, who work in tough conditions with professionalism and pride — even in 100-degree heat. It also reinforced our deep commitment to safety, which is at the heart of everything we do. I’m so proud of our teams — not just for their performance in the competition, but for the way they represent the heart of Idaho Power every single day. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible, and to the families who support our linemen behind the scenes. We’re proud to celebrate the legacy and future of this vital work.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility — especially during the 100 Deadliest Days on our roads. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, traffic fatalities spike. That’s why we’ve joined forces with other local agencies to raise awareness and urge all drivers to stay alert, slow down, and give extra space to utility and construction crews working near roadways. This isn’t just a public safety message — it’s personal. We’ve had too many close calls involving our employees. Our top priority at Idaho Power is making sure every one goes home safely to their loved ones at the end of every day. A heartfelt thank you to our community partners who are helping spread the word. Together, we’re committed to putting safety first — every mile, every day. Read more: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/gZdvFchg
