The story of how it all got started
Most people wouldn’t expect a pro soccer player from Bosnia to become one of the driving forces behind an American pickleball company. ⚽ But if you know Ismet Hurtić, it makes perfect sense. We first worked together when I was still in tech sales. When that chapter ended, we both found ourselves looking for what was next. Instead of waiting around, we got to work. I flew to Sarajevo. We drank Bosnian coffee, ate ćevape, and stayed up way too late talking about business, life, and what it would take to build something fun—and real. I presented the opportunity in Pickleball, and while he had no idea what on earth Pickleball was, he trusted my intuition that it was a growing wave rather than a flash in the pan. 🏓 Ismet taught me what it really means to be an entrepreneur. Without his eComm expertise, House Pickleball would’ve stayed just a fun idea. What started with selling paddles turned into branded gear for some of the biggest companies in the world—Walmart, Cheez-It, Corona.
