What is the average amount of time women suffering from fibroids wait to seek treatment? You may be surprised to learn that it is over three years. Fibroids can cause heavy bleeding, bloating, back pain and other symptoms that can severely affect a woman's quality of life. "Watch and wait,” medication or a hysterectomy are all options for women who have fibroids, but there are also minimally invasive procedures that can help without removing the uterus. Hear from Dr. Taraneh Shirazian about the role of shared decision-making in patient care and why it's important for women to be informed of all the treatment options available — so they can make the choice that is uniquely right for them. #FibroidAwarenessMonth

Our GYN Surgical Solutions leadership team is proudly wearing white to raise awareness about uterine fibroids. These noncancerous growths affect millions of women and can cause debilitating symptoms — but they so often go undiscussed and undertreated. If you or someone you know is living with fibroids, you are not alone. We are committed to raising awareness around heavy periods and fibroids and the treatments that can help, including those that are minimally invasive and preserve the uterus. Together, we can advocate for better care and access for every woman, everywhere. Let’s keep pushing for progress in #womenshealth. #FibroidAwareness

When a 42-year-old woman visited her doctor for a routine mammogram, there was no reason to suspect breast cancer. Although she had no family history of the disease, our Genius AI Detection solution assigned her results a high-priority case score of 87%. A pathology report later revealed she had a form of breast cancer that can be challenging to detect on mammography, especially in its early stages. #AI is also powering the new Genius Digital Diagnostics System. For decades, checking for cervical cancer using a Pap test involved placing a patient’s sample on a slide to be examined under a microscope. But our team committed to reimagining this process, unlocking new possibilities to improve laboratory workflows and more accurately detect disease. In honor of #AIAppreciationDay, read some of our latest stories about how our teams are using AI to help transform patient care. Links in the comments.
