Goodwin Living received a nearly $125,000 grant from the Alzheimer's Association®’s Center for Dementia Respite Innovation to expand our Thrive Social Day Program at The View Alexandria. Thrive supports individuals with early to mild cognitive impairment through creative arts therapies, community outings and structured cognitive engagement. This grant will help us enhance the space, grow the team and reach more families in the region. It also allows us to strengthen partnerships with primary care providers and memory clinics to expand access to high-quality dementia-specific respite care. Goodwin Living is expanding in Alexandria! On June 14, the Alexandria City Council unanimously approved our plans to build a new continuing care retirement community near Seminary Road. Goodwin House Seminary Road will offer more than 200 independent living apartments, assisted living, memory support and a health center.
