1 in 5 vehicles on the road today across the U.S. have unrepaired safety recalls. Even more alarming, a recent study found that 43% of drivers are not familiar with the process of checking their vehicles for open safety recalls. To educate Hispanic families about safety recalls and encourage them to check their vehicles for open recalls, we activated a media relations and influencer campaign for the National Safety Council and Stellantis during the lead-up to Vehicle Safety Recalls Week, March 3-9. With nearly 30 feature stories across 9 major media markets, and influencer partnerships with a handful of parent content creators, like The Carlins in Florida, we converted 50% of the website traffic to checktoprotect.org/es, where Spanish-speaking drivers can access in-language information about their vehicle's safety, as well as check for open recalls at no cost, into vehicle look ups. Last week was the best kind of work whirlwind at the Trending Up conference. GMMB was proud to be a conference sponsor to support over 200 creators who are using their platforms and communities to make change. Discussing how creator programs can best be used for causes and brainstorming how to include creators in upcoming political and advocacy campaigns left me energized (not always an easy feat in politics these days!). I and my colleagues Gayatri N Bhalla, Jodi Quintero, Lacey Faeh and others also had the best time meeting creators and seeing some of the creators we've worked with previously in person for the first time.   Huge thanks and congrats to Mariana Castro, Heeyoung Leem, and the entire Trending Up and The Hub Project teams for organizing such a successful conference! You put together a truly representative and diverse group and are building an amazing pipeline of creators for progressive issues and change. Not to mention you've raised the bar for the best punny event titles 🤓

GMMB was recognized by our partners at TLC - The Treatment and Learning Centers for communications counsel and support. It's a privilege to help advance their work on behalf of children and adults with a wide range of different abilities, and it was a wonderful evening with the TLC staff, their board, and our fellow Business Advisory Council members. We encourage any of our peers in the DC area who have jobs that would be a good fit for an adult with disabilities to reach out to TLC.
