When Tara McNeil crossed the finish line of the 2023 Madison Triathlon, she finished last, but to her, it was a moment of absolute triumph. Born with arthrogryposis, a rare condition that caused intense pain, Tara made the courageous decision to undergo double below-knee amputations at age 39 in pursuit of a better quality of life. She turned to Gaylord Specialty Healthcare, where she found the support, resources, and community she needed through our Amputee Support Group and Sports Association.
