Throughout July I have decided to post on a daily basis to engage better with my network and spark debate. Posts will be a mixture of our live projects, opinions & insights and more casual posting at weekends. 😁 Day 1: Today I am talking to Cost Management professionals who are looking to move into the Data Center/Mission Critical space in the US. 🇺🇸 I was speaking with a candidate based in New York this morning who is a strong QS with a great resume but no DC experience. Obviously they love where they live (who doesn't love the Big Apple 🍎 ) but most large scale mission critical projects are pretty much in the middle of nowhere. I explained to them that if they go out on site for 18 months to two years you will rapidly progress your career and experience by doing this as opposed to competing against hundreds of other cost management professionals in the city. You will interface with big tech clients and be much more acclimatised than those who want to work remotely (another post on that to follow).
