We had a great time last week at the Early Care & Education Pathways to Success (ECEPTS) Annual Conference in Austin, TX where we continued sharing and exploring the future of Out-of-School Time Apprenticeships as a professional career pathway. We were honored to be in attendance with our partners from the MA Dept of Early Education and Care and The Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD). A highlight of the trip was FKO Deputy Director Briana Flannery joining MA early childhood apprenticeship colleagues on the breakfast panel to speak about our innovative approach to state-wide collaboration. 🎶"We Get by with a Little Help from Our Friends" 🎶 Last week, FKO employees joined forces with volunteers from Liberty Mutual through their "Serve with Liberty" program to help with some seasonal upkeep of FKO's outdoor nature playground in #WinthropMA. Together, we repaired a climbing structure and sensory path, turned soil and put in a variety of new plants. We are so grateful to have been selected as a nonprofit partner for your annual day of service. Beyond these volunteer hours, FKO continues to extend appreciation to Liberty Mutual for their funding of FKO's apprenticeship initiative - a first in the nation endeavor aimed at supporting professional growth in the out-of-school-time setting.
