The State of #Washington requested a Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) from FEMA to help fight the #BurdoinFire burning in Klickitat County. We approved the request, making it the first FMAG for Washington in 2025.   FMAGs make funding available to pay up to 75 percent of a state’s eligible firefighting costs for fires that threaten to become major disasters. Our 18 incident management assistance teams (IMAT) undergo year-round training to ensure they're ready to deploy and support local disaster recovery.
