Raising awareness is the first step toward expanding opportunities. As our President and CEO, Michael Monteferrante, shares in this episode: “When people better understand the capabilities of individuals who are blind or visually impaired, it changes perceptions. That’s how doors start to open—through education and exposure.” We’re proud to take part in this conversation alongside NSITE and others leading the way in employment access and workforce innovation.
🎧 Heard & Empowered is back with an inspiring new episode featuring Michael Monteferrante, president and CEO of NIB associated nonprofit agency Envision, Inc. Family, friends, colleagues, and donors are deeply saddened by the passing of Blake Lindsay, Manager of Outreach at Envision Dallas. Those who knew Blake were inspired by his dedicated service as an ambassador for people who are blind or visually impaired. Blake’s love for people was evident in his constant display of “love in action,” as he engaged with colleagues and clients alike. The joy he brought to every relationship was contagious, creating a lasting, transformative impact on those around him. A purposeful leader, Blake led with integrity and was guided by a true calling to inspire and empower others to reach their fullest potential. In honor of his legacy, a memorial fund in Blake Lindsay’s name is being established to support and benefit individuals who are blind or visually impaired. A memorial fund has been established in Blake's name which will continue his legacy to make a positive impact for people who are blind or visually impaired. At our Grand Opening in Farmers Branch, attendees enjoyed visiting our Envision Interface Contact Center, where trained professionals who are blind or visually impaired deliver excellent customer support! With artwork featured by blind artist George Mendoza, Envision Interface was vibrant with tactile pieces that engaged the senses, and attendees learned more about the wide array of employment opportunities we offer for people with vision loss.

Thank you Soraya Correa for visiting our expanded facility and speaking at our Grand Opening! We greatly appreciate your support.
On October 31, NIB President and CEO Soraya Correa was one of 11 speakers who helped celebrate the grand opening of the brand-new Envision, Inc. Dallas Farmer’s Branch facility. Soraya and the other guests toured the new building, which consolidates all of its operations under one roof. During the tour, she met with a number of Envision employees and found a familiar face in Keela Alonzo, Envision's 2024 Peter J. Salmon Employee of the Year, who recently attended the NIB/NAEPB Training Conference and Expo. Picture 1: Soraya Correa (left), NIB president and CEO, with Keela Alonzo, Envision's 2024 Peter J.
