It takes something special to turn a tragic moment in history into an educational experience, but that’s exactly what the dedicated team at the River Raisin National Battlefield Park - with help from volunteers from DTE - did with the unveiling of their new education and visitor center in Monroe. http://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.pspr.ly/6043fnj3v

The American Society of Engineering Education found that of the 141,000+ bachelor degrees awarded annually, only 25% are earned by women and 32% are earned by minority men. These findings inspired the Engineering Society of Detroit's Boys and Girls in Engineering programming, which brings STEM careers to life through immersive learning and you-look-like-me mentorship with area STEM professionals. DTE Energy engineers volunteer their time for both programs and lead hands-on activities alongside the young boys and girls. For DTE, building Michigan’s workforce takes place in numerous ways and engaging Michigan's youth through win-win partnerships helps to bring in-demand energy careers to life. In 2017, the Engineering Society of Detroit launched a youth engagement program specifically to support girls interested in STEM studies. Today, the Girls in Engineering Academy supports 167 female youth ranging from 6th grade to high school seniors, and we are delighted to have been able to host them for the 8th year in a row.
