On Thursday, August 7, communities across the United Way service area came together for a single, powerful day of service: the United Way of Central New York Day of Caring. This annual volunteer tradition marks the launch of United Way’s fall fundraising campaign and mobilizes employees, neighbors, and local leaders to support nonprofits with hands-on help, and over 50 employees from each of the Community Financial System, Inc. companies participated in a special opportunity at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse. In 2024, CFSI employees donated $160,000 to 12 United Ways across our footprint, and in 2025, we donated $25,000 to the United Way of Central NY!
