Our mission is to heal children, strengthen families and build community.
About us
Since 1981, the CHRIS 180 mission has been to heal children, strengthen families and build community. CHRIS is an acronym that represents our core values: Creativity, Honor, Respect, Integrity and Safety. Our goal is to unlock the potential of Georgia’s youth and fortify families by providing a hand up, not just a handout, through our integrated Family of Services. We believe that potential is a right, not a privilege. This holistic approach enables children, youth and families to unlock their potential for happiness, health and success despite challenging circumstances, often beyond their control. We offer an array of individualized programs through our Family of Services which includes: Behavioral Health, Safe Homes & Environments, Strong Communities and Education & Training. Our ambition is to be Georgia's go-to place where every vulnerable child or traumatized youth discovers how to unlock their potential. We’re so grateful to have Brad Nitz, Chief Meteorologist at WSB-TV, as this year’s CHRIStal Ball emcee! 🌟 Brad has been a longtime supporter of CHRIS 180 — hosting 'Brad’s Coat Drive' to help keep the youth in our programs warm. We can’t wait for a great night ahead and are honored to have him by our side. Thank you, Brad, for your heart, your voice, and your unwavering support. 💙

CHRIS 180 is incredibly grateful to QuikTrip for their generous $500,000 donation to our School-Based Mental Health Program in DeKalb County. 📚 Here’s how this investment will make a difference: ✔️ Expands access to counseling and crisis support for students and families ✔️ Allows CHRIS 180’s licensed therapists to meet youth where they are, directly in schools ✔️ Ensures support is available regardless of insurance status ✔️ Builds a stronger foundation for healing and academic success This donation was announced alongside the opening of QT’s new store on Memorial Drive—a new chapter for the community in more ways than one. Thank you, QuikTrip, for investing in student mental health and helping us create real change. 🧠✨

Thank you to Delta Air Lines employees who recently gave their time and talents to CHRIS 180 during their "We Lead Initiative" across metro Atlanta. 🎒 The team helped provide school supplies to CHRIS 180 students in our School-Based Mental Health Program, to ensure a strong start to the school year! 📏✏️ As presenting sponsor of the upcoming CHRIStal Ball, Delta continues to show what true community partnership looks like. We couldn’t be more grateful for their leadership and ongoing support.

💛 Self-Care Sunday is here! At CHRIS 180, we believe that healing starts from the inside out. And sometimes, that healing looks like taking a deep breath, checking in with yourself, or saying “no” to protect your peace. ⭐ Starting this August, we’re bringing you Self-Care Sunday, a weekly mental health reminder to pause, reflect, and do something kind for your mental and emotional well-being. Each week, you can expect: ✨ Simple tips for everyday care ✨ Tools to help you reset & recharge ✨ Encouragement to put you first, without guilt 🫶 Whether you’re deep in your healing journey or just starting out, we’re here to walk alongside you. 🔹 This week’s Self-Care Tip: Start your day with 5 minutes of stillness. ☀️ Before checking your phone, sit quietly, breathe deeply, and simply be. Even just a few minutes can help calm your nervous system and set the tone for a more peaceful day. You deserve moments of peace, and we’re here to help you find them 💛 #SelfCareSunday #CHRIS180 #MentalHealthMatters #HealingStartsHere

CHRIS 180 couldn’t be more grateful to the Atlanta Falcons , in partnership with SCANA Energy for making our back-to-school drive such a success! Falcons players, Khalid Kareem, Zach Harrison and Elijah Wilkinson provided 50 CHRIS 180 students backpacks stuffed with school supplies. 🎒✏️📐 Students also received free haircuts, to help them start the year feeling fresh! ✂ 🏈 Freddie Falcon and the Falcons Cheerleaders led the fun with exciting games and activities that kept everyone smiling all day long. Thank you to the Falcons organization for investing in the future of our youth, meeting families where they are, and giving young people the tools to heal, learn, and thrive! #AtlantaFalcons #Atlantagivesback

What if the teen you once mentored… became your son? That’s exactly what happened to Mr. Minor. He didn’t set out to become a foster parent. He wasn’t sure he had all the right answers. But what he did have was a relationship, and a heart that was willing to say yes. Mr. Minor had mentored G.M. for years. When G.M. needed a stable home, he stepped in through CHRIS 180’s foster care program. It wasn’t always easy. G.M. had experienced trauma, and trust took time. But Mr. Minor never gave up. He showed up, day after day, reminding G.M.: You’re safe. You matter. You belong. Eight months later, their bond became permanent. G.M. was officially adopted, and a new chapter began. One built on love, commitment, and the power of showing up. ✨ You don’t need to be perfect to foster or adopt. You just need to be willing. Start your journey today at chris180.org/foster Because sometimes, one “yes” can change everything. 💙
