📢 We’re pleased to share a message from our Chairman and CEO, Jeffrey Szyperski, highlighting Chesapeake Financial Shares’ continued growth and momentum through the second quarter of 2025: 💼 We reported net income of $3.146 million for the second quarter—an increase of 3.6% over the same period last year, or 14.4% on an annualized basis. This increase is coming from two primary sources: the repositioning of $75 million of the investment portfolio into higher-yield securities, and the continued repricing upward of our existing loan portfolio. The net interest margin for the company continues to expand for the above two reasons. 📈 Our total assets have grown by over 7% since year-end, driven by strategic financial moves that position us for long-term success. Meanwhile, our three specialty divisions—Chesapeake Payment Systems, Flexent and Chesapeake Wealth Management—are making strong progress in their four-year plan to double their net contribution. 🏦 As we continue to see bank consolidation take place, we are proud to be standing stable, sound, and independent in the current financial institution environment. Thank you for being part of our journey since 1900 and we look forward to continuing our 125th anniversary celebration with you and our communities. #thechesapeakeway #chesapeakebank125

Chesapeake Bank reposted this
ICYMI - Kiah, Trent, and I had a great conversation about the opportunities of incorporating Payments as a part of the bank's growth strategy. I even got to tell a new favorite story about how Google's early focus on the needs of the customer vs the traditional needs of their own industry saved themselves from selling their business for only $1 million! Trent brings a lot of insight from his years developing payments businesses and now leading their work at Kotapay as a leading payroll payments processing bank. I always enjoy the chance to talk about how Chesapeake Bank has been able to innovate around payments and focus our value proposition as a service-minded, nimble organization.
