BGC is excited to announce our company’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) leaders. Jerry LeClair, who joined BGC in 2019 as Executive Vice President- Chief Merchant Officer and Retail, has been promoted to COO and will now oversee retail operations, marketing, category management, merchandising, logistics and facility services.   BGC is excited to welcome Mandy Tomlin as the company’s new Executive Vice President - CFO. Mandy brings more than 25 years of financial leadership experience across the retail industry.

Congratulations to the five BGC partners who have been named Women of Influence in the Food Industry by The Shelby Report for their exemplary leadership skills, work ethic, and the creativity they bring to their personal and professional lives. BGC is incredibly proud of these five women for being nominated and selected for this special recognition.

After wildfires ravaged the state of Oklahoma over the weekend, BGC donated pallets of ice and water on Sunday, March 16. To assist those affected by wildfires, partners at our No. 921 Sand Springs store location distributed free cases of water and bags of ice to community members.  At BGC, we’re committed to supporting our community—not just in times of celebration but also in times of need.

The 12th annual FRESH 15 is this Saturday! Proceeds raised from runner registration will benefit 36 local nonprofit organizations. As part of this year’s contribution to Breckenridge Village of Tyler, BGC recently donated more than 75 pairs of shoes to race participants from Breckenridge. 🎉 Two truckloads of fresh produce = 80,000 pounds of holiday cheer to fight hunger! 🎉 BGC is proud to donate over $160,000 worth of fresh produce to the East Texas Food Bank in Tyler and the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana in Shreveport. Helping our neighbors feed their families is at the heart of what we do, and this donation is part of our 43rd annual Spirit of Christmas Food Drive! Through Dec. 17, join us in spreading the holiday spirit by donating non-perishable food items at your local Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, Spring Market, or FRESH by Brookshire’s. Together, we can make a difference in the more than 170 communities we proudly serve.

Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC) escorted 24 veterans on the 20th Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods Heroes Flight to Washington D.C., to visit the memorials built in their honor. In addition to veterans from World War II and the Korean War, this flight included veterans who served during the Vietnam War, Gulf War, War in Afghanistan and War in Iraq. BGC provides the all-expense-paid trip to honor our veterans for their service and sacrifices. To date, more than 500 veterans have made the trip to our Nation’s Capital. Veterans traveling back to Little Rock, Ark. will arrive today at 4:30 at Clinton National Airport, where their loved ones will be waiting to welcome these heroes back home. The remaining veterans, traveling back to Texas, will arrive at Tyler Pounds Regional Airport at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend and help welcome home our local heroes.

Brookshire Grocery Company is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the company-owned Partner Recreation Area! The 250-acre property located along the shores of Lake Palestine officially opened in 1974 exclusively for partners of the company and their guests. For the past five decades, the Recreation Area has been a great place for various company and family gatherings. It is open year-round and is an additional perk for those employed at BGC.

Today is a special day as Brookshire Grocery Company celebrates 96 years of serving our customers and communities! We’ve come a long way since our first store opened in 1928 on the downtown square in Tyler. Today BGC operates more than 200 stores under five banners: Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, FRESH by Brookshire’s, Spring Market and Reasor’s. We continue to grow and develop, and we look forward to serving our communities for many years to come.
