Learnings from CTA About Planning for CES 2026 CES may still be months away, but the time to plan is now. At Allison Worldwide, we recently hosted a conversation with the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and two of our clients, GE Appliances, a Haier company and Oshkosh Corporation, who’ve exhibited at CES in recent years. The session was packed with insights for brands thinking about how to show up in Las Vegas this January. Here are a few key takeaways: 1. CES is a media magnet. CTA’s Tira Baror reminded us that CES draws more press than the Super Bowl (yes, you read that right). From CES Unveiled to curated media luncheons across global cities in the run up to the spectacle in Las Vegas, there are countless opportunities to generate buzz. Exhibitors can access press lists, host power sessions, and participate in exclusive media lounges, all designed to maximize visibility. 2. Start early and think strategically. Award submissions, speaker applications, and media outreach all begin months in advance. As CTA emphasized, the brands that get the most out of CES are the ones that start planning early. That includes aligning on messaging, identifying target audiences, and building a show experience that’s both interactive and memorable. But, you’re not too late yet. Award submissions are open until Aug. 22 and Speakers submissions are due Aug. 28. 3. Every company is a tech company. From electric fire trucks and farm equipment to health-tech, CES is no longer just about consumer electronics. As CTA’s team shared, the show now spans industries from agriculture to fashion, and from biotech to blockchain. If your brand is innovating, CES is the place to tell that story. 4. Make it real. Both GE Appliances and Oshkosh staffed their booths with engineers, not hired talent, who could speak authentically about the technology. They brought products to life through demos, storytelling, and hands-on experiences. That approach drove media coverage and created lasting impressions. CES is more than a trade show, it’s a platform for brand storytelling, innovation, and connection.
