💡 NOURISHING BRIGHT FUTURES THROUGH NUTRITION 💡 As ACF announces the availability of supplemental funding for Head Start nutrition services, we're highlighting programs that are already leading the way with innovative approaches: At Lewis and Clark Early Childhood Program in Washington and Idaho, nutrition education comes to life through vibrant gardens fully integrated into classroom learning. Children help tend the garden and see their efforts come full circle when the harvest is included in their meals. Using the Dr. Yum Project curriculum, children use child-friendly knives to cut fruit and vegetables from their very own garden, creating powerful connections between growing food and making healthy choices. 🌱 The Fairbanks Native Association in Alaska takes a multi-pronged approach through their K'edenyahh Denh Garden and outdoor nature trail. Children explore seasonal fruits, vegetables, and plants while teachers incorporate science, technology, engineering, and math activities, cataloguing produce, plants, rocks, and trees in their Native language. The program also addresses food insecurity through a smokehouse and canning station where families can safely preserve wild game and berries for the long arctic winter. "At ACF, we believe that the best social program is a #family, and the best economic program is a #job. We’re building a strategy that strengthens social connections and economic opportunity. This is why we’re approaching trafficking as a public health issue—focusing not just on intervention, but on #prevention." Senior Advisor on Human Trafficking Kevin Malone

ACF Acting Assistant Secretary (AAS) Gradison and Deputy Assistant Secretary Verno joined Mississippi Attorney General (AG) Lynn Fitch for Operation Guardian Force, a 2-week, statewide law enforcement effort that resulted in 72 arrests, and the recovery of 29 human trafficking victims. ACF is part of a whole of government response to trafficking that ensures the health and wellbeing of victims. This work is part of a broad interagency effort coordinated by the President's Interagency Task Force (PITF) to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons. “The Trump Administration will partner with anyone who will join us in the fight against human trafficking. I was honored to witness firsthand AG Fitch’s leadership and Mississippi’s effective coordination between law enforcement and victim services to help save lives.” – ACF AAS Andrew Gradison The Daily Signal covered Operation Guardian Force and the Trump Administration’s approach to combatting human trafficking.
