Updates

  • At #HLTHEurope, we asked attendees: How do we accelerate investment in women’s health? Because it’s not a niche market. It’s not a special interest. It’s half the population and it’s long been under-researched, underfunded, and overlooked. Attendees shared their answers on post-its: bold ideas, hard truths, and rallying cries for change. 💬 Now it’s your turn. If you could write one message on the wall, what would it say? Drop it in the comments!

  • When we asked HLTH Europe attendees for their best escape line from a boring conversation, this one took the cake (or the cone). Good news, you won’t need it here. #HLTHEurope is all high-impact conversations, big ideas, and connections you actually want to stick around for. 📅 Mark your calendar for 2026, grab your pass, and let us know your exit phrase in the comments! https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/eAMA7B-t

At HLTH Europe this year, one theme kept resurfacing in conversations, panels, and product demos: 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲.⁣ This shift is already underway, but it’s far from complete. What’s clear is that empowering patients requires more than just giving them devices – it means creating care models that make those tools meaningful.⁣ Many of the most promising ideas were grounded in the concept of hybrid care. Companies like ŌURA and Dexcom are helping pioneer a multimodal approach where patients track their own data – from sleep to meals to glucose levels – to receive timely, personalised nudges along the way. In this model, the patient isn’t just informed, they’re actively steering their journey, with clinical teams providing guidance rather than direction.⁣ Changing behaviour remains the hardest part. But some are finding traction by combining education, continuous data, feedback loops, and regular engagement. One example: when wearables include a meal tracker, the frequency of logging increases dramatically. That single change can help reinforce healthy habits over time – especially in areas like cardiometabolic health, where compliance is a known challenge.⁣ The American Hospital of Paris, which I had also spoken about before, offered a more systemic view on empowerment. Their structure is designed to support agile workflows and reward clinical teams who co-create new services with patients. Innovation there isn’t top-down – it’s something that happens across the ecosystem, driven by real-world experience.⁣ As one speaker put it, “a patient is a consumer.” That means trust, simplicity, and credibility aren’t optional – they’re essential. If a device isn’t intuitive, or if the data it generates doesn’t translate into action, patients will disengage. And if clinicians don’t see the value, it won’t make it into practice.⁣ Ultimately, technology is no longer the limiting factor. The question is how we design around it. One investor put it well: going from 0 to 1 is no longer the challenge. The challenge is going from 1 to 10.⁣ Patient empowerment won’t be solved by apps or algorithms alone. It will require new partnerships, new business models, and a shared commitment to designing care that actually fits into people’s lives. And that, perhaps, is the real promise of HLTH – bringing the right people into the same room, asking the right questions.

  • HLTH Europe 2025 just wrapped, and 60% of the 2026 show floor is already gone. 👀 Apparently, sleep is for the uninspired because Amazon Web Services (AWS), Infermedica, Withings, and dozens more already claimed their prime real estate for next year. 🚫 Don’t be the brand wishing they had moved earlier. ✅ Be the brand everyone sees (and talks about). Planning to launch, pitch, or partner? Then plan to move now. Spots are disappearing faster than Petunia’s glitter supply.
