🚨🧀👊 1 Year Of Cheez-It In The UK: From A Cheezy Dream To A £23M Brand 👊🧀🚨 Last Friday marked the 1st anniversary of Cheez-It in the UK. Can't believe it's already been 1 year since we launched and it all started with a big, cheezy, history-making ambition for Cheez-It to become Kellanova's biggest new brand launch in the UK and Ireland. Such an ambitious launch meant we needed to be daring, combining strong investment with a challenger mindset. It also meant we needed to be distinctive, identifying a gap in the market for a more elevated, real cheese proposition, a true cheese hit. Last but certainly not least, it meant we needed to be delicious with a unique format and great tasting food. Over what's been a very busy but very rewarding journey and now that we've been in market for a full year, we've learned a lot of valuable lessons including: 🧀 The importance of developing the right strategy, one with clear objectives, built on market and category insights and always customer and consumer-centric; 🧀 How key it was to create a specific portfolio and marketing mix that was the right fit for the UK as a market with the right product for the right channel and the right shopper. 🧀 The need for a relentless focus on being unmissable through driving physical availability, quickly building distribution across key retail environments, and mental availability, with a full-funnel marketing and activation plan. 🧀 Last, but certainly not least, how critical it was to ensure a strong E2E partnership throughout both internally and with external partners. And, as they say, the proof is in the cheese. Cheez-It has surpassed £23M in retail sales in its first year in the UK and was the 4th biggest NPD launch of 2024 and the biggest new brand launch in CPG, with double-digit penetration and a very strong repeat rate. Now that’s a Cheez-Hit! Thanks to our brie-lliant E2E team and agency partners for all the work in getting us to launch and for making this such an un-brie-lievable first year in market.
