☀️Summer holiday play sessions involve siblings too! ☀️ The Pepper Play Service, launched in June 2025, supports many families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening conditions by offering specialist play in the home. Each play session usually lasts around an hour, but because every child’s needs and abilities are different, hours of planning go into ensuring that every second of the play session is fun for the child. Earlier this week, our Play Specialist, Karen, planned a session for a child and their sibling. The session started with some arts and crafts, making puppets ready for story time! Then, together, they shared the story using puppets for some role play. Then out came the playdough, ready to make some cakes! Some expert "cutting of the cake" took place. A lot of care, love and attention go into planning each play session. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, our Play Specialist continues to ensure children with life-limiting conditions can experience the joy of play every week! Many of the children we support are socially isolated, and often the Pepper Play Specialist is the only person they have contact with outside of the family, so this service is vital for many families. The one thing we love about The Pepper Show is just how photogenic the event is! 🎫: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/e6wHDKdK If you’ve never been to The Pepper Show before, let us tell you a bit about it. The show started in 1989 and has run every year. Featuring almost 40 people across the cast and band, we put on 2 hours of the finest music from the last 6 decades, creating a set list that includes something for everyone. An important fact to note about the show is that everyone involved is a volunteer! The show takes 8 months to pull together, which is an enormous commitment from the cast and band. We couldn’t be prouder of this event and all of those people who give up their time to make it a reality. One of the most common things we hear from audience members after a show is how much pure joy can be seen onstage. So put a little joy into your October evening and book a ticket!

The Great Pepper Skydive is back for its third year! This has become an extremely popular fundraising event for us, and we’re pleased to announce that spaces are now open for the 2026 skydive. It’s free to take part in; all we ask in return is that you raise a minimum of £350 for The Pepper Foundation. You can sign up as an individual or as a team here: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/esZ7mGmm This year, our incredible skydivers collectively raised £26,000! This is a perfect event to participate in with your work team - we’re told some people get quite competitive with the team fundraising leaderboard! More information is available on the sign up page, but if you have any specific questions please contact our fundraising team directly.

Richard triumphantly returned from the US this week after completing the mountain bike ultra race, the Tour Divide. We can't thank Richard enough for his support. What an incredible experience for him, too - I'm sure this race is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

After high winds halted the second of our two skydive days, fortunately, the weather today is gorgeous and perfect for jumping out of a plane! 🛩 The lovely (and brave) team from QCS Staffing are back again and raring to go! QCS have been a long-term partner to the Pepper Foundation; it’s impossible to emphasise enough just how much of a difference they have made to our charity over the years. Their enthusiasm for supporting charities in their local community is incredible. They smashed their skydive fundraising target too, raising over £4000! Good luck, everyone, and have a great time!

CONGRATULATIONS RICHARD! 🚴🎉 We’ve been covering Richard Brash and his incredible journey on the Tour Divide Mountain Bike Race, a self-supported 2,750-mile solo bike race from Banff, Canada to the US/Mexico border. Well, yesterday Richard finally reached the endpoint at Antelope Wells, New Mexico and did this in an amazing 23 days, 8 hours, 3 minutes! We’ll be covering the whole of Richard’s journey in more detail later, and hopefully catching up with him upon his return to the UK. So far Richard has raised over £5,000 - if you want to donate to Richard’s fundraiser, you can find it here: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/e3f2EBed

It's impossible to overemphasise just how much of an incredible fundraising challenge Richard has set himself. He's no stranger to setting lofty challenges for himself, but cycling over TWO AND A HALF THOUSAND MILES is not something someone does on a whim! After this, we hope Richard takes some time for a good sit down and a cup of tea! So far, Richard has raised almost £5000 for our charity; you can support him here: https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/e3f2EBed

The Pepper Nurses care for around 70 children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire every year. In addition, the children’s hospice at home nursing team also supports siblings for as long as needed before and after the death of their brother or sister. A £20 donation could pay for 4 children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions to join a family day out to make important memories. A £30 donation could pay for a specialised nurse to visit a child with a life limiting or life-threatening condition to provide hospice care at home. An £80 donation could pay for a Play Specialist to provide a tailored play session for two seriously ill and isolated children at home. An £800 donation could pay for a Pepper Nurse to visit 13 children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in their own homes, providing pain, symptom and medication management, and end-of-life care and support. Any donation however small really would help to enable the amazing team The Pepper Foundation continue the work that they do. https://xmrrwallet.com/cmx.plnkd.in/eEJqJFZg
