A lil reintroduction post about my journey to founding @perlcosmetics 👋 And a gentle reminder that your career doesn’t have to make sense right now… because mine definitely didn’t 😅 I didn’t think I was smart enough for uni, so I took a job in a department store Quit after 3 weeks Then I took a gap year Eventually went to uni, studied biology, and graduated with a first (I shocked myself with that 🤣) Took another gap year Started a master’s in cancer biology… Quit after 3 weeks 🙃 Got a 9–5 in big corporate, and hated it lol I moved to London thinking it would fix things… news flash it didn’t 🫠 Then I lost my job during the pandemic with no redundancy payout and no plan But it gave me time to finally reflect on what I actually wanted ✨ So I started a business with no clue what I was doing 😆 And somehow… I made it work (even if the business isn’t quite thriving rn) So if you’re feeling behind or stuck, please remember: Careers aren’t linear Purpose takes time Rejection is redirection You don’t need to have it all figured out You just need to trust yourself and take the next step You’re exactly where you’re meant to be 💛 Part of a paid ad with @linkedin for TikTok but felt it was very apt to post here too 🤗 #smallbusiness #smallbusinessowner #smallbusinessuk #careerjourney #myjourney #careerchange
