In February, we informed you about an important transaction through Brose Sitech became the majority shareholder (51%) of COVERCAR, S.A., a Spanish company specializing in seat covers. Founded in 1993 by Herminio García Baragaña, Covercar employs more than 1,000 people across Spain, Portugal and Morocco.   Recently, Florian Müller, CFO Brose Sitech Group, and Daniel Geist, VP Program Management Brose Sitech Group, had the opportunity to visit Covercar's plants in Tangier, Morocco. As members of Covercar’s Board of Directors, both executives share responsibility for the company’s development alongside the García family. “After the acquisition of 51% of shares in Covercar as part of our vertical integration, I had the opportunity during my first visit in Morocco to meet the incredible local team: full of passion, expertise, and strong leadership. A heartfelt thank you to the team on site for the warm welcome and the great collaboration. Empowering people, fostering diversity, and growing together globally: that’s what drives us at Brose Sitech and Covercar”, says Florian Müller. We are proud to support the #MOTOkrew initiative of the Gremium MC Radicals motorcycle club in Głogów (Poland). A total of 81 volunteers registered for the blood donation event, and 63 of them donated, resulting in the collection of 28.3 litres of this priceless gift - enough to help save many lives. In addition, PLN 5,317 was raised to support Artur Cejba, a motorcyclist who lost a leg in a serious accident. Our company actively supports this initiative by promoting traffic safety among both drivers and pedestrians. The Brose Sitech stand attracted a lot of attention, and our conversations with attendees confirmed just how important road safety education truly is. Cyber Security Day at Brose Sitech China! This time we bring you the latest news from our colleagues in China where a cyber security training was held for our employees. It is an especially important issue – that is why we want to ensure every member of the Brose Sitech team is able to recognise potential dangers and to address them in an appropriate way.   The training sessions covered cyberspace regulations, China-specific phishing trend analysis and Brose Sitech internal regulations, among others.   The presenters emphasised that following the safety rules in the cyberspace is a company-wide responsibility.   We would like to thank you for the high turnout at the Cyber Security Day. Yet another semester of classes with the students of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology is behind us. Designers from the Brose Sitech office in Wrocław gave a course on 3D modeling with the use of CATIA software. It is worth noting that its practical application skills are crucial in the labour market. We use it every day at our company to design new products and keep technical documentation.   This time the subject of our classes was to design a car seat using various modeling methods.   As usual, the course was immensely popular among the students. This is an insect hotel we have recently donated to the children at the DRK daycare center in Sandkamp. Our goal was to give the children a hands-on way to explore the ideas of biodiversity and species conservation. This donation from Brose Sitech is part of the Urban Factory II project, coordinated by Francescantonio Garippo. Under the project, local companies can actively contribute to the climate neutrality of the district by Mittelland Canal.   We are very grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful initiative. Brose Sitech will acquire the German foam manufacturer Proseat, headquartered in Mörfelden. The transfer of ownership is conditional and subject to anti-trust merger approval by the EU Commission as well as several closing conditions. It is a crucial step towards further development and the strengthening of our position in the global #automotive market. “We signed the purchase agreement following approval by the Brose Sitech Supervisory Board and our owners, Brose and Volkswagen. Five production sites in Europe will make us a supplier of all essential components for vehicle seats once the transaction is finalized in the next months,” says Thomas Spangler, CEO of Brose Sitech Group. We anticipate the legal transfer of ownership from the current owner, the Japanese chemical supplier Sekisui Kasei, to be completed by the end of August 2025 once the provisions of the agreement and antitrust law requirements are fulfilled. Proseat was originally founded in 2003 and employs over 1300 people in six locations, three of which are based in Germany and one each in Spain, the Czech Republic and Poland. “We are glad to have found Proseat – an established and competent automotive foam manufacturer. The planned vertical integration will strengthen our presence as a seat system supplier and give our company new possibilities on the automotive market", emphasizes Florian Müller, CFO of Brose Sitech Group.
