Great collaboration with JDE Peet's and IDH to support sustainable coffee production in India’s Kodagu region.
In India’s Kodagu region, climate change and subsequent yield impacts have led to overuse of fertilisers, agrochemicals and water, negatively impacting biodiversity. In partnership with Sucden Coffee and IDH, we enhanced the resilience of both the landscape and farmers’ livelihoods by promoting: 🌱 Regenerative agriculture: Trained farmers on the correct fertiliser-to-water ratios, helping protect and improve soil health. 🌳 Agroforestry: Supported the planting of fruit tree saplings alongside coffee plants to increase soil fertility and diversify income streams. 🌾 Carbon sequestration: Promoted the cultivation of native tree species that store more carbon. The result? We impacted 2,500 smallholder farmers between 2020 and 2024 through practical, nature-based solutions. #Biodiversity #RegenerativeAgriculture #Coffee #ResponsibleSourcing
