83% of organizations say developing leaders at all levels is important... yet fewer than 5% have implemented effective leadership development programs. So why should you invest in leadership development? Because the stakes are high. Building new leaders isn’t just about experience or gut instinct, it’s about behaviors that predict real-world success: cognitive strategy, emotional intelligence, adaptability, and the ability to inspire and influence others. 📝 In our blog, “Choosing a Leadership Assessment: How and Why?,” Paul Glatzhofer walks through how the right assessment can: ✔️ Reveal leadership potential beyond job history ✔️ Measure emotional and strategic capabilities ✔️ Identify who can lead change and build high-performing teams ✔️ Deliver predictive insights Leadership development isn’t optional, it’s a smart, strategic move. And the difference starts with choosing assessments that measure what actually matters. Curious how? Our recent webinar "Emotional Intelligence and Leadership" reminded us: emotional intelligence (EI) isn’t a “nice-to-have” for leaders, it’s an essential. Especially in today’s complex, people-focused workplaces. At Talogy, we help organizations build emotionally intelligent leadership through EIP3, our science-backed Emotional Intelligence Profile. It’s designed to help leaders deepen self-awareness, build stronger relationships, and lead with purpose and resilience. One organization that’s seen the impact first-hand? daa. ▶️ “Our CEO and our CPO had full belief that using the Talogy suite of tools would allow us to trickle climate change right through our full organization. Having Emotional Intelligence at the core allowed our senior executives and senior management team to truly understand self.” – Alan Mulvey, Head of Group Leadership Coaching, daa With EIP3 at the center of their leadership development strategy, daa has strengthened its top teams and driven real cultural transformation. #Talogy #LeadershipDevelopment #EmotionalIntelligence #EIP3 #FutureLeaders #HRInsights #FridaySpotlight

Should AI be used in the application process if it’s relevant to the job role? 🤖💼 If you're applying for a job where you'll be working closely with AI tools, is it fair, or even realistic, that AI is involved in your interview process too? According to a recent article in HR Magazine, Meta are developing a new type of coding interview, where candidates have access to an AI assistant. Arguing that this is more representative of the 'real-world' environment in which candidates would be working. It's a big signal to the rest of the industry, and for many organizations, it may feel like a green light to follow suit. But just because you can use AI, doesn't mean you should, or at least, not without careful consideration. 💬 Ted Kinney, VP Research and Development at Talogy, offers his views: "This article raises some great points, many of which we've been hearing from clients and seeing in our own research. It’s easy to label candidates using AI as “cheating,” but that reaction may miss the bigger picture. Employers want critical thinkers who solve problems with available tools, yet often punish those doing just that. If candidates haven’t been told AI use is off-limits, isn’t using it just smart thinking? That’s why we introduced the Honesty Agreement in our assessment solutions, it sets clear expectations around generative AI use. Our research shows that simply informing candidates when AI is inappropriate significantly reduces misuse and supports fairer, more reliable selection. We also agree that embracing AI use in assessments is part of the future. Like any workplace tool, if candidates are tested in realistic, job-relevant contexts (including AI use) we get better insight into their true potential. The tools may change, but measuring how well someone uses them remains key to smart hiring." 👇 What do you think – should AI interviews only be used when the role demands it? 🗳️ Poll results are in! When it comes to assessing early career talent, most of you said behavioral competencies matter most, by a wide margin. 👉 Nearly half (47%) of people prioritize qualities like resilience, teamwork, and adaptability, ahead of cognitive ability, cultural fit, or qualifications. With limited experience to evaluate, it makes sense that organizations are leaning into how someone shows up, not just what’s on paper. At Talogy, we believe this focus is spot on. Understanding behavioral strengths helps predict how someone will grow, collaborate, and contribute in the long term, and that's what early careers hiring is all about. ✅ Assessments that spotlight these transferable skills give you a fairer, more accurate view of candidate potential, especially when experience is limited. #SkillsBasedHiring #EarlyCareers #HiringStrategy #HRInsights #Talogy #RecruitmentBestPractices

🎓 As graduate hiring season picks up, many organizations are rethinking what it means to be “qualified.” With more early-career candidates entering the market, now is the time to shift focus from qualifications to capabilities. ✅ Skills like adaptability, collaboration, and learning agility aren't always listed on applications, but they’re some of the strongest predictors of future success. We believe early-career hiring shouldn’t just fill roles, it should build future-ready teams. And that means focusing on what people can do, not just what they’ve done. 💡 "Light Up the Room", our latest Skills Boost session led by Jordon Jones, L&D Manager, was all about the science of positive energy at work. We explored the heliotropic effect, the idea that people naturally gravitate toward positivity, and how this impacts performance, engagement, and team dynamics. From practical tips our colleagues can apply day-to-day at Talogy, to peer learning through breakout discussions and live chat, this session was a great reminder that relational energy is a skill, not a personality trait, and one we can all develop. Thanks to everyone who joined and contributed such thoughtful reflections.
