On 11 July, Hend Yaqoob was elected to the Nominations Committee at the FIA. Originally from Yemen and now based in Spain, Hend is a research consultant in the field of renewable energy. She holds a BA (Hons) in Environmental Management & Sustainability from the SKEMA Business School, and an MSc in Energy Policy from the University of Sussex. Hend was initially put forward for the position by the Yemen Club for Touring & Automobile. As the youngest Member on the Committee, she brings a fresh perspective to the role and further diversifies the make-up of the FIA body. Hend’s expertise in energy policy and sustainability bolsters the FIA’s capabilities in these areas and will help to ensure sustainable practices are built into decision making at the highest level within the Federation. Her term of office runs until the end of December 2026. We are delighted to welcome her on board.

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Madeleine Orr as a visiting professor at FIA University. Dr. Orr brings deep interdisciplinary expertise to the University, with a PhD in Kinesiology (emphasis in Sport Management), Master’s degrees in both Natural Resource Science and International Event Management, and a strong record of published research and industry engagement. She has been recognised by Forbes 30 Under 30, Corporate Knights, and other international organisations for her contributions to sustainability and sport.
