We've been posting on LinkedIn for about 90 days, but we've never properly introduced ourselves - it’s about time. Hey LinkedIn 👋 We're notus, a personal branding agency based in Aarau, Switzerland and Berlin, Germany. And yes, the 'n' is lowercase. Trust us, we've been trying to get that through to every employee we've onboarded, every client we've talked to, and every Google Doc we've tried to edit (please autocorrect, have mercy). Marvin Sanginés started notus four years ago in New York City. For the longest time, it was just Marvin and a bunch of freelancers. Fast forward 4 years, and we're a core team of 10+, working remotely from all over the world, and have completed 110+ client projects. Our North Star is helping people tell their stories. "Your greatest stories are yet to be told." It's our website heading. It's what we live by. So if you're a CEO, executive, or founder: We turn your expertise into business growth through effective content engines. We build content engines that: - Build your audience - Save you time - Attract talent - Drive sales We capture your authentic voice through podcasts and voice memos, turning it into impactful content. On our LinkedIn company page, you can expect: - team stories and updates - highlights of our kickass team - the occasional humble brag of client wins - behind-the-scenes of building a 7-figure agency - insights on the importance of a holistic brand view - tips on copywriting, content strategy, and how to stand out in a world filled with content And if you’re wondering who’s hiding behind the company page of this incredible company… Shoutout to Luca Wetzel, Uma Damodaran, Hannah Schuler and Max Radman. Say hi, guys :) #meettheteam #startup #linkedIn

We've written thousands of LinkedIn posts for 150+ founders over the past year. Here are 4 principles that we teach all of our content strategists: 1. Good writing starts with strategy, not words The actual copywriting is only 20% of the work. The other 80% is knowing: - who your ideal customer is  - what you want them to do  - what their goals are and how we can measure success We won't write a single word until we're crystal clear on these fundamentals. Otherwise, we're just throwing content into the void. ____ 2. Tell stories, not theories Everyone can share abstract advice. Only we can share our specific stories. Instead of "how to" content, we focus on "how I" content:  - "How to grow on LinkedIn" → "How I grew to 30k followers"  - "Why storytelling works" → "How storytelling doubled our conversion rate" Nobody likes being lectured. Everybody wants to learn. So we want to tell stories that people want to learn from. ____ 3. Cut the fluff "Fluff" is a term frequently used by our Head of Content, Max Radman, that describes words or phrases that don't provide any value and just take up space. These should be avoided at all costs. Here are 2 examples: - "In today's modern world, it is important to always strive to continually improve." Phrases like "today's modern world" or "strive to continually improve" add bulk but little meaning. This may sound nice in theory, but it provides zero value. - "Our team is passionate, motivated, and always goes above and beyond to meet your needs." This doesn't provide concrete examples or proof. What are you going "above and beyond" for? This could apply to any company. Simple & concrete over complex & generic any day. ____ 4. Authenticity over everything The biggest factor for building a successful brand is authenticity. With AI tools making generic content accessible to everyone, our truth is our only competitive advantage. The content that performs best for founders we work with is their "1of1 content" — stories about their struggles, lessons, and unique perspectives that no one else can copy. Authentic content gets noticed. The rest gets ignored. ____ The recipe is simple, tried and tested: Strategy before everything, stories > lectures, no fluff, and authenticity to stand out. Trust us, it works.

Every Friday at 3 PM, our team gathers for a virtual tradition that's become the backbone of our company - "Fridays with notus." Here's how these weekly calls keep our team connected: For context, we're a fully remote company. That said, we've found that regular face-to-face time is a must. Our Friday meetings have become our way of making this happen consistently. During these calls, each team member shares these 3 specific things: 1. Weekly Rating: Each person gives a number out of 10 that reflects how their week went. If your week was a 10/10, then that's great, and if it was a 6/10, that’s cool too. Transparency is key here, and there is no problem with having a downer. 2. Gem of the Week: This is a personal highlight - could be a project breakthrough, a client win, a new favourite song, or even something from their personal life. Sharing these gems has become a way to celebrate small victories together that might otherwise go unnoticed. 3. Person of the Week: Everyone recognizes one teammate who helped them or did exceptional work. It's our way of saying, "I noticed what you did, and it made a difference." We try to keep it at one per person, but some people just have a lot of love to give. Think, 15 people laughing, hearing each other's answers and reactions, commenting and spamming emojis in the chat. Whatever you’re imagining right now is probably exactly how it is in real life. Yes, things can get chaotic, but that’s what makes it special. What started as a simple weekly check-in has turned into a tradition we all genuinely look forward to, the perfect way to wrap up the week. After doing this for years, the recipe is simple: Get a bunch of young, dynamic, and diverse people on a call together once a week and watch the fireworks happen. Looking forward to next Friday already :)

1 month ago, we flew our entire team from 7+ countries to Barcelona for our Q1 offsite—3 days packed with strategy workshops, unforgettable dinners, a boat tour, and 500+ photos. Here's a recap: For context: We're a fully remote company with team members scattered across the globe. Since day one, we've made it a priority to create in-person moments that go beyond work as often as possible, to connect as actual humans. This is why we invest in quarterly offsites. Day 1: Getting together Thursday kicked off with a bang: - Welcome session where many teammates finally met IRL after months of collaborating virtually - Q1 recap by Marvin Sanginés (crushed all our growth KPIs!) - Radical Focus workshop tackling our biggest company challenges Then came dinner, where the real magic happened: - Shared amazing Indian food (Pani-Puri became an instant team favorite) - Watched team members who'd never met build genuine connections - Enjoyed conversations that set the perfect tone for the days ahead Day 2: Brains & Sweat Friday was non-stop energy: - Morning team run (shoutout to the notus Run Club members) - Wim Hof breathwork session to center the team - Focused workshop groups tackling company challenges - Luca Wetzel and Max Radman led team discussions on our approach to content strategy - Selim Burcu hosted a "truth club" where everyone shared their  feelings about Q1 (things got real) We wrapped up the day with a traditional Spanish tapas feast and a long walk through the streets of Barcelona back home. Day 3: Deep connections Saturday took everything to the next level: - Hiked through the city and up to Montjuïc hill for stunning city views - Surprised everyone with a catamaran trip along the coast (where half of us got completely soaked) - Ended with our biggest team dinner at Cecconi’s Italian restaurant - Transformed the flat into an impromptu party venue, playing everyone's favorite songs from India, Lithuania, to the Dominican Republic The night ended with big smiles and lots of "can't wait for the next one" among the team. After this offsite, everyone seems more aligned and more connected than ever. In fact, stories from our Barcelona adventure are still popping up in Slack threads and calls 1 month later. So one thing is clear: remote company culture doesn't just develop on its own; it requires effort, planning, and creating meaningful opportunities for connection. That's exactly why we'll keep flying people across countries to share meals, solve problems, and create memories together. Looking forward to the next one :) PS: Also, a big shoutout to Luca Meier from morphbox gmbh | Videoproduktion who captured content throughout the weekend, catching some truly amazing moments.

Today I officially start my 4th week at notus, so I thought I’d take over the company page today and introduce myself. Let me start from the top:   Hey, my name is Niels Okoye. I’m 24, recently graduated from IE Business School in Madrid and am the newest content strategist on the team.   And I have to say, it’s been a pretty cool journey so far:   From my first day to my first company offsite in Barcelona, to my first content call - a lot has happened.   But before I get ahead of myself, let me rewind - back to where my notus journey began It all started on New Year’s Eve, 2024. At about 15 minutes past midnight. I was outside on the terrace of Soho House when I met Luca Wetzel and Marvin Sanginés. And as you do, we started chatting. Slowly we dove deeper into the topic of notus and what they were building. From our convo, several things stood out to me:   - The strong vision they had for notus - The impressive client projects they had worked on - The relaxed yet determined vibe that they both had   I was intrigued, to say the least.   So we exchanged contacts that night.   In the weeks following this evening, our conversation kept popping into my head.   It was the openness and proactivity they met me with that left a mark on me.   So I simply texted them.   Quickly, they got back to me and we were off to the races.   The onboarding was smooth as can be and the transparency and realness from all people involved was special and something I hadn’t experienced before.   And now, we find ourselves in the present day.   Here I am, 4 weeks in.   As a full-time member of the notus team.   And let me tell you, since I started, the learning hasn’t stopped.   But thankfully I’m surrounded by a pretty awesome team that wants me to succeed.   (Shoutout to them.)   All I can say now is that I cannot wait for what’s to come in the future.   I look forward to honing my craft as a content strategist, improving my weak points and doubling down on my strengths to contribute to driving the company forward.   The only way is up.    But before things get too soppy, let me sign off and hand the reigns of this page back to the admins.   And who knows, maybe you’ll hear from me again in the future.   Till then, have a good one.

We caught up with Uma Damodaran, our senior content strategist, over a virtual ☕ to chat about her time at notus so far. Here’s what she had to say: 1. How did you hear about notus? I was building my own  personal brand on LinkedIn when I stumbled across Marvin Sanginés’s profile. His posts about building in public really stood out to me, and I could tell he was bringing together a team of cool, talented people. Curious, I reached out to see if there was an opportunity to get involved—maybe for an internship or something similar. Marvin replied quickly, and before I knew it, I was in the trial process and the rest is pretty much history! 2. Why did you decide to join notus? notus didn’t feel like just a normal company, to be honest. It actually practices what it preaches. That really stood out to me from how the company works to the people I work with. Also, I resonated with their people's writing style and the insights they shared. Plus, the team was working with an impressive roster of clients, so I knew they had real experience in the game. Everything about it felt like the right move, it’s hard to put it into words. 3. What has been your biggest learning so far? Adapt fast. Working here has taught me how to juggle multiple projects, stay organized, and be proactive in client communication. If something seems like it could become a problem, bring it up before it actually is one. On a personal level, I’ve learned that staying productive over a full work week takes discipline. Planning well helps me avoid last-minute stress and stay on top of everything. 4. What’s the number one reason you like working here? The people. Everyone here is hardworking, supportive, and genuinely fun to work with. Beyond that, I love that we get to work with clients across different industries—it keeps things fresh, and I’m always learning something new. The open communication and good vibes make notus a great place to grow. --- Shoutout to Uma Damodaran!

After working with 110+ clients, here are the 5 steps we’d recommend to a CMO at a B2B company with 20+ employees to activate their employees’ personal brands: 1. Identify internal execs/employees - Look for employees who can dedicate the time and grasp the commitment required - Ensure they have the experience and insights to represent your company - For example: Heads of Departments, Vice Presidents, etc - Select 2-3 key individuals to start the program 2. Create a solid foundation - Revamp their LinkedIn profiles to reflect their roles, achievements, and unique insights - Create a company banner template to use across brands - Map out their Ideal Customer Profiles - The target audience for each leader (e.g., sales, marketing, HR) may differ - Define key topics into content pillars: personal stories, insights, aspirations 3. Creating content and infrastructure - Idea 1: Host bi-weekly calls with execs to ask specific questions and uncover insights - Have a content strategist prepare questions beforehand - Idea 2: Encourage the execs to write content themselves - Develop a content calendar - Start with just 1 post/week and then gradually increase frequency. - Define posting frequency, engagement goals, and methods to track progress for the first 3 months. 4. Measure and analyze impact - Gather quantifiable performance metrics - Use UTM  links to a booking page to track if content drives conversions - Gather qualitative feedback - For example, ask clients and recruiting candidates how they heard about you or why they applied. 5. Increase awareness - Run personal brand workshops - Provide guidelines and example posts - Have employees share and engage with each other’s content With the right execution on employer brands, you can: Increased reach and credibility Showcase company culture Attract top talent So, what’s stopping you?

Over 90% of LinkedIn profiles we revamp lack this 1 powerful component (which takes 5 minutes to fix): Social proof. Or, in LinkedIn terms: Recommendations. If you’re serious about building a trustworthy personal brand that motivates customers, partners, and investors to reach out to YOU… …then your Recommendations section of your profile shouldn’t be empty. If it is, don’t worry. Here is a simple way you can start getting recommendations. It only takes 5 minutes: 1. Think about the people who you (or your company) have had a great experience with (this can be clients, co-workers, partners, suppliers, etc.) 2. Reach out using this message (steal it): “Hey [name], I’ve been updating my LinkedIn profile and realized that Recommendations help build a lot of credibility and trust. It would be super helpful if you could write me a short recommendation about my personality, skills and work at [company]. If you could include keywords such as [industry keywords or buzzwords], that would be fantastic! Happy to write one for you too :) Thanks a lot, [your name]” By outlining what you’re looking for, it makes their life A LOT easier (increasing the chance that they’ll actually write it). Get 3-5 as a starting point. Then make it a habit of reaching out after successful interactions with important stakeholders. Social proof is an area of personal branding where you can never have too much. P.S - Comment any personal branding topics you want covered in the future and we’ll make sure to include them.
