Revolutionizing Infection Prevention Without Antibiotics! 🦠 Silvio Brugger and his team from "MRSA/MMSA Eradication with Commensals" are challenging the traditional approach to fighting infections by reshaping the respiratory microbiome. Instead of killing harmful bacteria with antibiotics, their innovative goal is to prevent pathogens from gaining a foothold. With the support of the GRS Microbials program, they are currently studying how beneficial and harmful bacteria interact in the airways. With continued funding and collaboration with ZüriPharm AG and Wyss Zurich, they aim to find ways to tip this balance in favor of the good bacteria – to naturally prevent or even stop infections.
