  • 🎉 15 Years of Drees & Sommer in Belgium 🎉 This year, we proudly celebrated 15 years of Drees & Sommer in Belgium — a milestone that reflects our strong local presence and the meaningful relationships, impactful projects, and shared values we’ve built along the way. It was an evening of great conversations, familiar faces, and a shared sense of pride in what we’ve achieved together. As part of a larger international group, our journey in Belgium has been shaped by collaboration, innovation, and a deep commitment to sustainable excellence 🌱. • 🌍 𝐈𝐟 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞-𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞…    Because today is 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲 — the day we’ve used up all the natural resources our planet can regenerate in a year. Starting tomorrow, we’re living beyond our means. Again. And this year, it’s more than a week earlier than last year.    The consequences are already here: extreme heat, water scarcity, biodiversity loss.  As individuals, as a society — and as an industry — we all share responsibility. But also: 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥.    At Drees & Sommer, we believe we can lead the way through tangible change:  🔁 Urban mining  🌱 Living green roofs and facades  🌞 Renewable heat  🧱 Modular, resource-efficient construction  🌾 Bio-based materials  🚉 Smart, integrated mobility systems    We’ve implemented many of these — in our own company, across our projects, and in partnership with clients across Europe.  But we need to go further. Move faster. And turn bold visions into tangible results. 👉 What do you believe needs to change so we can start pushing Earth Overshoot Day back again? #EarthOvershootDay #Dreso

  • 🏙️☀ 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 — 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻. Europe is heading into yet another summer of intense heat. Densely built urban areas — like Brussels, Ghent, and Antwerp — are especially vulnerable. Temperatures here can soar up to 15°C higher than in surrounding regions due to the urban heat island effect. 🌡️ This puts a serious strain on public health and daily life. People are finding it harder to leave their homes, go to work, or simply enjoy their cities. But the solutions are already here — and we’re ready to help implement them. We’ve outlined five key strategies that make a real difference in cooling down cities. Our experts have already applied these and other measures in a wide range of projects, including tailored climate adaptation strategies for: ✅ Cochem-Zell ✅ Rastatt ✅ Dormagen … and maybe soon in your city, too — right here in Belgium. 🌍 Because everyone deserves a city that’s livable, even in a heatwave. #ClimateAdaptation #Resilience #UrbanSolutions #CityDevelopment #Dreso

  • #AllTogetherNow🌈 🎡🎢🐭 Record-breaking turnout at the Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart – and that's without the Wilde Maus roller coaster!  Where carousels usually spin, this time everything revolved around our future: More than 4,500 Drees & Sommer employees from around the world came together for Blue Days 2025 at Stuttgart’s iconic Cannstatter Wasen fairgrounds along the Neckar River. Two days full of exchange, strategy, and future-focused thinking. Together, we continue to look ahead – aiming to stay flexible and agile in response to new demands and changing conditions. For our clients, that means a deeply connected team that gets strategy, takes responsibility, and works together to create solutions that truly make a difference.  🌱 The future needs responsibility – and we walked the talk: In partnership with the Kessel Festival, which followed directly after, we used existing infrastructure, technology, and logistics – efficient, resource-friendly, and collaborative in the best sense. ♻️ 🎬 Lights, camera, action – these are two days filled with team spirit, bold ideas, and wow moments! An event that brought us together.  A team that makes things happen.  A future we’re shaping – together. #TheBlueWay #BlueDays2025 #Dreso #ShapingTheFuture #Sustainability #LivingStrategy

As cities face growing environmental challenges, projects like this one show what’s possible when circular thinking meets bold architecture. Together with Jaspers-Eyers Architects and a strong team of partners, we’re helping to turn a 1970s brutalist office building in the heart of Brussels into a beacon of circular renovation and energy efficiency — for BNP Paribas Fortis. At Drees & Sommer Belgium, we contributed our 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗲 (𝗖𝟮𝗖) 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆, integrating sustainability into every layer of the project — from 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, 𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, and 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘂𝘀𝗲 to 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 and 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽. Because true sustainability isn’t just about the environment — it’s about long-term value. ♻️ This is how we future-proof our cities — economically and environmentally. 👏 Thanks again to all the partners for making this transformation possible: 🔹 Client: BNP Paribas Fortis 🔹 Architect: Jaspers-Eyers Architects 🔹 Contractor: BESIX 🔹 Engineers: Contracting Engineering Services - CES, @GROUPD, Sweco 🔹 Sustainability: Drees & Sommer 🔹 Inspection: SECO Belgium 🔹 Safety: Vinçotte 🔹 Désamiantage: SGI

  • Every great journey needs a moment to pause, realign, and look forward – and that moment is now: The rides are on pause, but the momentum is real – Blue Days 2025 has kicked off in Stuttgart! Stuttgart’s historic Cannstatter Wasen goes international: These last two days, we joined more than 4,500 Drees & Sommer colleagues from across Germany and around the world, coming together for our Blue Days 2025. Together, we're looking ahead – embracing agility and flexibility to meet new challenges and changing conditions head-on. For our clients, this means: a deeply connected team that understands strategy, takes ownership, and collaborates to create real impact. And because future means responsibility, we're acting sustainably: By teaming up with the upcoming Kessel Festival, we’re making smart use of existing infrastructure, technology, and logistics – efficient, resource-conscious, and in true partnership. We’re happy to share a glimpse of the Dreso spirit on the Wasen with you. • Diversity and inclusion as a recipe for success! Too many cooks spoil the broth, as the saying goes. A DIVERSE team of cooks, on the other hand, makes it better. Numerous studies have already shown this. 👩🍳👨🍳🏳️🌈 We wanted to find out whether this also applies to us at Drees & Sommer. We conducted our own study to investigate whether and how diversity and performance are linked. 📊  Et voilà…  On most of our teams, there is a positive correlation between diversity and performance! 💡 This is good news, especially at a time when diversity programs are unfortunately being increasingly questioned and are no longer to everyone's taste. 🍽️ Our study also shows that an eclectic mix of ingredients alone is not enough to create a masterpiece. Diversity and inclusion only becomes a recipe for success with an inclusive mindset, diversity-aware managers and teams, and the right framework conditions. 🖼️ Our team in Belgium is a great example—bringing together people from various European backgrounds, which enriches our collaboration and expands our possibilities. We are taking the results as an opportunity to further refine our recipe and bring our statement “Blue is boundless” to life. With 6,500 employees from 84 nations at more than 70 locations, we are well poised to find sustainable solutions for the future. Find out more about our study and what colleagues from different locations think about diversity in working life 👇
